Mo Donegal won (as the favorite) and Skippylongstocking was third; hope you did better than I did!
WagerMate likes Creative Minister more than then crowd does…
I’ll bet 5 to win. I’ll box 2, 4, 5, and 6 in the exacta.
In the superfecta, I’ll go with 4 and 5 with 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 with 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 with 1, 2, 4, 5, 6.
Best of luck!
WagerMate picked the second, third, and fourth horses in order… but there isn’t a bet for that (maybe I should claim we nailed the Placefecta).
Simplification finished sixth, so none of my bets paid off.
WagerMate doesn’t like Epicenter as much as others do…
I’ll bet 1 to win. I’ll box 1, 2, and 8 in the exacta and trifecta.
For the superfecta, I’ll use 1, 2, 8 with 1, 2, 4, 8 with 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 9 with All.
WagerMate picked the wrong long shots — not Rich Strike (at 80-1).
WagerMate likes long shots…
I’ll bet $5 to Win on Tiz The Bomb.
I’ll bet an exacta with 8,9,13/All and another with 3,6,8,9,10,13/8,9,13.
I’ll need one of those long shots to do well.
We’ve released a new version of WagerMate; it has a lot of upgrades under-the-hood, but the most visible changes include:
- WagerMate simulates races as short as 4 furlongs
- WagerMate knows about the new code (‘FAN’) for Fairmount Park.
- WagerMate knows about the new Tapeta course at Gulfstream.
You can download and try WagerMate by clicking here.
But, to do anything interesting, you’ll have to register with TrackMaster so that you can download data files.
We’ll never speak of this again.
Another update required…
Updated my bets based on this…
WagerMates’s Saturday picks (I’ve manually scratched any horse with a number over 14)…
I’ll bet the same way as yesterday, but add superfecta boxes for the 9 races where WagerMate shows 4 picks.
How can you lose?
WagerMate’s picks for the first day…
I’ll bet $2 to win on every WagerMate horse that has an ROI better than 25% — that’s 12 horses.
I’ll also place $1 exacta box bets on WagerMate’s top 3 picks in each race.
I’ll place Pick 3 bets in each race, boxing WagerMate’s top 2 picks (A,B/A,B/A,B).
The finish order was 2, 4, 3, 6.
The good news is that means the superfecta bet was a winner. The bad news is that the $12 superfecta paid $6.07.
There’s never a long shot around when you need one.
WagerMate likes the four best horses…
None of them are good win bets.
I’ll bet an exacta with 2 and 3 over 1, 5, and 8.
For the superfecta, I’ll use 2,3,4,7/2,3,4,7/2,3,4,7/All.
I’ll also bet the Pick 3 starting with race 10: 5 & 10, 2 &3, and 1 & 3.
The horses finished 6, 5, 3, 2 — a good match to the WagerMate predictions.
With 13-1 Rombauer as the winner, the payouts were good. The $1 superfecta paid $1,025.50.
If you used WagerMate’s selections, and bet the minimum of $3 on the exacta, and the minimum of $2.40 on the superfecta, it turned your $5.40 into $102.55.
That was a fun race!
WagerMate makes some reasonable picks…
I’ll bet 5 over 2, 3, and 6 in the exacta.
I’ll also box WagerMate’s four choices in the superfecta.
Best of luck!
Don’t you hate it when your three horses bump into each other just out of the gate? None of them recovered from that mishap. Tough business.
WagerMate likes three reasonable horses…
But the Kentucky Derby tends to be an odd race, so this year, I’m going to bet it in an odd fashion. I’ll make two exacta wagers: 14,15,17/All and All/14,15,17.
I’ll be hoping for an unpopular horse to come in first or second.
Just in time for the Kentucky Derby, Version 4.1 of WagerMate has been released.
The new version has an improved Jockey Variant and an updated Daily Track Variant.
How can you lose?
I blame the pandemic for those picks.
